Dear Ones,
Aglow has a destiny
We corporately and individually stepped into our destiny in Milwaukee at the North America Conference, Sept 28-Oct 1. Aglow’s destiny is established.
As Aglow International, we are a people with a great calling, a great future, a great destiny, simply because it was and is God’s plan and purpose. Ours is a destiny so deep in the heart of God that time, obstacles, or winds of change are not able to extinguish it or discourage us.
We are to be light in the darkness; hope for the hopeless; His hand extended to a hurting world. Our destiny is upon us and we say “YES” to the Living God.
What is destiny?
Destiny, defined as “moving towards a purposed end,” is a matter of CHOICE, not chance.
It is a thing to be STEPPED INTO, not waited for.
In Milwaukee, the conference theme was Destiny. While in that city, the ongoing REALITY OF OUR DESTINY was unfolding before us and we aligned ourselves with God through prophetic and practical actions. Today I want to give you an opportunity to align with us if you were not at conference by responding to this letter. If you were at conference, you can strengthen and affirm your alignment by also responding.
Here are some words of wisdom:
Watch your thoughts, for thoughts become words.
Watch your words, for words become actions.
Watch your actions, for actions become habits, and habits become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
A shift has taken place. The forces of evil are loud and belligerent—like Goliath the giant, hurling his taunts at the armies of Israel. But a shift has taken place in the divine realm also. We have been positioned for this moment; this season. The David in us has arisen. We are armed and dangerous!
You carry the destiny of your nation.
Last year, Asher Intrater from Jerusalem told us that every nation has two groups of people: The general population, which is seen by God as rebellious to His authority, and the second group, “the remnant,” the true followers of Jesus. The spiritual destiny of a nation is carried by the remnant of believers in that nation. You represent the true destiny of your nation, whether it is the United States, Canada, or whatever your nation is. God looks to the remnant who are the bearers of the national destiny and spiritual purpose of every single nation.
It is the struggle between the positive divine destiny and the negative demonic destiny that constitutes the battle; the spiritual warfare. This is the battle we find ourselves engaged in, but He has made us ready for the battle. The very opposition that God has allowed to come into our lives, or the things that the enemy has brought to our doorsteps, we have allowed to strengthen us, to shape us, to bring us forth in a new victory, in a new strength. We have crossed the threshold into victory. Though we may fall, we will rise with new strength.
A shift has taken place.
God has positioned Aglow and women for this hour. We have felt a shift in the natural, physical forces of the world and in this ministry. The very thing the enemy feared, the very thing he was trying to take out of us, God has built within us with new strength, new vigor, new power, and new authority. Women are arising in this hour.
Alistair Petrie, one of our wonderful anointed speakers in Milwaukee, told us that many of the leaders he knows around the globe are very conscious of the shift that is taking place and we, as believers, need to be in place by the end of the year. He said we need to position ourselves with our destiny; align ourselves with God and the destiny God has for Aglow. We must step into the process of transformation. He said that we may not know our whole destiny, but we need to get into alignment with it anyway.
Alistair went on to say, “God knows what is written in our lives, for us, about us, around us. Somebody needs to take the time and the tenacity to draw down on to the earthly plain what rightfully belongs to them—to their family, their ministry, their business, their city, their nation.”
In Milwaukee, we had the chance to “draw down onto the earthly plain what belongs to us”. We gave financially “to the war effort,” including filling bushel baskets with money. The result was the highest level of individual giving in the history of an Aglow conference. We “stepped into our destiny.” We “marched in review” as the army of women dedicated to God and to Aglow. And, if you’ve seen the conference photos on our website, you see that we also “danced into our 40th anniversary year.” The whole conference experience was rich with eternal prophetic and apostolic meaning and significance. At the Aglow Worldwide Headquarters, we are taking serious steps to align ourselves with God’s plan by the end of the year. The last 3 “new hires” at Headquarters are women in their 20s. We are stepping into our destiny.
Align yourself by the end of the year.
I don’t want you to be left behind. The army of Aglow is on the move. You need to be on the move too. You can begin by standing up and making a verbal statement to God that you align yourself with Him to step into your personal destiny and the destiny of Aglow.
During past World Wars, citizens made financial commitments to strengthen the war effort. Going to war takes finances, resources, materials. A sure way for an army to experience defeat is to use up its armaments, outdistance its supply lines, and run short of what it needs to keep fighting the enemy. I’m asking you to align yourself with God by giving a significant financial gift to this ministry so we can align ourselves with our destiny by the end of 2006.
I’m also asking you to align yourself with God by renewing your Covenant Partnership, or by becoming a Covenant Partner if you are not one now. We have a beautiful commemorative 2007 40th Anniversary Covenant Partner card for you when you renew or join. If membership is offered in your nation, please be sure you support that as well, but you are also invited to become a 40th Anniversary Worldwide Covenant Partner. You can renew your Partnership of join for the first time by going to our Covenant Partnership page.
We have exciting things happening in Aglow. Part of our destiny includes legions of young women becoming a part of the ministry and adding their spark and sparkle to our lives. We saw them at conference. We also heard and accepted the challenge Reverend Glen Forrest of Canada gave us to “each one bring a young woman to our 40th Anniversary Conference in Seattle, Sept 20-23, 2007.” With invited speakers like Lou Engle, Che Ah, Robert Stearns, Barbara Yoder, and Chuck Pierce and worship leaders like Ron Kenoly, Robert Stearns, Don Potter, Julie Meyer, and our own Ruth Collingridge—everyone will experience the presence of the Lord in very special ways!
And... when you come to Seattle next year, you can visit the Aglow Worldwide Headquarters as one of the “conference tours” of the host city! Virtual tours are nice, but “boots on the ground” are the best!
The Aglow Army is on the move
Between now and the beginning of 2007, many significant things are happening. Evangeline Weiner has accepted a position at Aglow and will be working with us to raise up youth and young women. At 22, she brings experience and wisdom beyond her years. As the daughter of Bob Weiner of Bob Weiner Ministries, founder of Maranatha Ministries, Evangeline has traveled and ministered in over 32 nations and preached with leaders like Rick Joyner, Rodney Howard Brown, Cindy Jacobs and Gary and Lelo Keller of Switzerland. She just graduated from the University of Washington, where she is a Campus Evangelist for City Church of Kirkland, WA. In her spare time she has written a book entitled The Calling of a Generation which will be released this winter. We are very excited about having Evangeline on our team.
Another significant event is the appointment of Sandy Wezowicz, U.S. Regional Director for New England, as the Aglow Watchmen on the Wall Program Director. This program, based on Isaiah 62:6-7, is a part of our call to Israel and is designed to accomplish two things: to raise up passionate intercessors for Israel, and to create informed, articulate ambassadors who will lift their voices in support of Israel in the public forums in their nations.
The original Watchmen on the Walls program created by Robert Stearns of Eagles Wings has been adapted for Aglow’s use, and consists of two parts. The first is a seminar with a teaching a manual for prospective “Watchmen.” The second is a prayer pilgrimage to Israel as a part of an Aglow tour during which individual “Watchmen” are commissioned by members of the Knesset and pray in the land.
Seminars are currently scheduled in the U.S. for January 12-13, 2007 in Lowell, MA; Feb 23-24, 2007, in Charlottesville, VA, March 9-10 in the Great Lakes Region, location TBD; and April 13-14, 2007 in California, city TBD. Registration will be conducted on line on the Aglow Web site, with the fee also to-be-determined. Commissioning will take place during our May 14-27, 2007 trip to Israel—options, prices, and further information also to be forthcoming. A seminar open to international as well as U.S. women is scheduled for September 23-24, 2007, after our 40th Anniversary conference in Seattle, Washington.
Together we’re moving into our 40th year, aligned, united, prayed up, obedient and humble at the great legacy we have in Christ Jesus. It’s our hour! It’s our day! We were made for such a time as this!
Love and blessings,
