Even in the face of adversity, Aglow women in Mexico are rising up to carry on the work.
Eileen Pendleton, Aglow Mexico National President writes:
“A few years back there were thousands of murders and kidnappings in the city of Juarez, Mexico. It got so bad that 200,000 people left to go to El Paso. Aglow also struggled. 3 groups quit because the women were too afraid to leave their homes to go to an Aglow meeting. It was too dangerous. "
"Two years ago a new Area Director was appointed. She re-activated the 3 groups and has started 4 more! Now there are 7! Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds.”
“Right now the worst hotbed of violence in the whole country is in an area in Western Mexico. Citizens are taking up arms because the police are unresponsive. Just recently 43 students from a university went missing. The "police" were implicated in their murders, if you can believe that!”
“Aglow there was also the target of attack. Both the Local and Area Boards were discouraged, and many left. Just recently we refreshed the whole Area Board and part of the Local Board. It was prophesied that in the 3 state area where there has been the most violence, God would visit Aglow. The enemy tried to kill it, but God raised up beautiful women to carry on. And not just carry on, but to fight and win the battle, to prosper, to go to new heights! The new Vice President of Extension has already found 6 new contacts in the area who want to start Aglows.
"When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord raises up a standard against Him.”
